When I take the time to create a grocery list, it is inevitably left behind. I think I remembered everything despite that. A ladybug landed on my arm as I was walking to the car. It felt like early summer instead of February.

Dinner tonight solved one of my great culinary dilemmas. I consider myself a fairly adventurous eater and cook, but slicing up raw chicken is so repugnant. Mike doesn't like his meat on bones, with the exception of drumsticks. Enter my kitchen savior, ground chicken. The meat department will do it for you if there isn't any already on the rack. Tonight I made a skillet full of ground chicken liberally doused in minced garlic and Chinese five spice, along with some broccoli bits and a judicious amount of sweet and sour sauce. It came out pretty well. I thought I timed it so it would be all ready when Mike got home from work but someone is not yet home...

The rice came out decently this time. Not mush. Less water, who knew? Hah.

FYI: when cutting up raw chicken, put the fat you trim, etc. in a plastic bag in the freezer. It doesn't stink up the kitchen that way. Of course, you have to remember to throw it out, otherwise you end up like me right now with a freezer full of garbage.... Same for shrimp shells.
