Krista and Bob, at last

Over the weekend we drove to Houston for Krista and Bob's wedding. The collective mood was at last - they have been together almost seven years, through all kinds of craziness. Sometimes you see your friends and you can't imagine them ever apart. I've liked Krista from the moment I met her, with her fierce sense of practicality and independence. Bob is probably one of the sweetest of the sarcastic crowd of boys I've ever known. I still can't listen to that Snow Patrol song with Martha Wainwright that was playing in the car when Melynda told me Bob's vehicle was blown up in Iraq on Christmas eve. I found myself thinking about it when I watched them dance, so glad that we were all right here, right now.
