Is it truly necessary to write "Definitely adult humor and not suited for children" when reviewing a movie titled Zack and Miri Make A Porno? Seriously?

People like to upload photos of themselves with their reviews, regards of what they are reviewing. Normally they are the Myspace style self portraits. The other day I came across some obviously taken by a second person that I wish I could post in all their horrible glory. (I am not sure of the ethical implications of that, so I haven't. But if they uploaded them onto a public website, does that make them fair game?) Let us just say that these photos did not match up with the reviewer's claims that the cosmetics she purchased were wonderful.

I can sort of address the first part of this. When ZAMMAP (I'll abbreviate) was released, the Weinstein brothers and Carmike cinemas were ... a little mortified about the "Make a Porno" part of the title. A Carmike rep, I believe, also idiotically claimed that people confuse "Zack and Miri" with "Zack and Cody," characters from a shitsville Nickelodeon programme. In many of the ads (of which there weren't many unless the market was fairly big - certainly not in cultural hotbeds like Kansas or Nebraska or South Dakota), the "Make a Porno" part of the title was stripped, at the Weinsteins' behest. All DVD packaging I have seen also removes "Make a Porno" from the spine, and the front covers show the phrase in much, much smaller type. The original promo poster (with "Make a Porno") was banned by the MPAA, and there was a ratings row about it prior to release.

Seth Rogen up to this point has been in a lot of raunchy-ish buddy-ish comedies, and it's my thinking the moron reviewer you cite probably was thinking he or she'd get another "Pineapple Express" or "Knocked Up". Not to say that either one should necessarily be viewed by children, but as we know, ZAMMAP has some fairly graphic sex scenes in it and was initially slated an NC-17. It's fairly difficult to understand why an informed viewer would say "no kiddies in this here thee-ay-terr" -- but for someone who'd never heard of it, only knows the film as "Zack and Miri," and didn't equate Kevin Smith with raunch, it's at least feasible. Really, really sophomoric on the reviewer's part, but feasible.
