the last unicorn

It is strange to think the movie hasn't shown on a big screen since 1983, until tonight. The Drafthouse sold out the showing, and Peter S. Beagle showed up to answer questions, tell stories and sign books. He seemed surprised to see such a big crowd. I think I just babbled a bit, about loving bumbling wizards. It was great.

Beagle joked at one about how he was sure the movie had contributed to the nightmares of so many children over the years. He also mentioned that the first time he saw it in general release, a small boy was wandering up the aisle and talking to himself. The boy said "The red bull was chasing her and she was alone." It struck him as to how scary it must have looked.
