Shooting at Holocaust Museum Kills Guard

I can't believe people are more worried about the prisoners in Guantanamo and our Muslim neighbors than the hate filled home variety terrorists in our backyards.

Back in 1998 I visited the Holocaust museum during a week spent in DC. What I remember most was the intense level of security, the overwhelming sense of horror and the peculiar smell of death in the room displaying mounds of shoes and other belongings left behind.

It's so hard to see these things - the murder of Dr. Tiller, the nasty tirade at KRXQ and a murderous rampage by a hateful old man - without wanting to strike out. In the face of such violence, it is hard to hold back. Part of me doesn't want to be the better person in these moments. I want to hit someone, hard and in the face.

Maybe too, since it probably wasn't obvious in my original post - I certainly don't mean that there are not some seriously bad terrorist apples who do happen to be in Guantanamo or Muslim. My emphasis was more on the overwhelming assumption that all Muslims, people with swarthy complexions, beards or headscarves = terrorist, as promoted by less than truthful news organizations and xenophobia over recent years. (Also that the hysteria over transferring Guantanamo prisoners was less warranted than say, some of the scary people in supermax prisons already here.)
