ORLY?

So, wow, someone named Orly Taitz is suing to get Barak Obama's birth certificate and people think there is some conspiracy that he's not an American citizen? For serious? And this California attorney/dentist/real estate agent is named ORLY? O RLY? (Oh my god, I wish I could make up stuff this funny!) She has a blog, and apparently thinks Obama is a Nazi. Dude. I just have no words. Plus she wants your money, please send donations by paypal!

Laughing causes me physical pain, you know.

Disagree with his positions, his politics all you want. Have different opinions on how to fix healthcare in America or what to do about the economy. But really right wing whack jobs, don't lower yourself to a Botox babe named ORLY!

Actually, that's one of my favorite names-- it's Hebrew, and means "Light is mine".

I mean, I believe that HER beliefs are idiotic, don't get me wrong, and I get why it's funny . . . but . . . Pointing and laughing at the foreign name isn't really cool.

I'm sorry. I don't mean to be mocking her name because it is foreign. I was struck by the weirdness of the situation combined with how the name has a similarity to the O RLY? macros I've seen.

For what it's worth, I knew the name before the owl macro, but it still made me laugh, because it's just so perfectly apt here. I would feel the same way if she were named "Justin Sane" (ok, that was weak-- best I could do off the top of my head) or anything else that sounded like a pun about how bizarre she is, so I don't think it's about it being a foreign name.

But then again, I was also running around telling everyone that Palin meant "backward" in Greek, so maybe I'm just too amused by names for my own good.
