various bits and things

threeplusfireWah, my favorite catty designer went home on Project Runway. Mr No Sleeves Sparkle Panties made some sleeves and they were terrible. I transfer all my hopes to Ms Eastern European Concrete Grey Is Chic for the win.
Quarterly work meeting last night. I have moderated over 71 million characters of content in the past 16 months. I have a little framed certificate. Yay. The new office is so 1999 Dot Com Decor that I think I had flashbacks. Oh kitchen.
I found out yesterday that someone I used to work with at the hotline was arrested for molesting a kid in Alaska. I sat ten feet away from this guy's desk for a year, staffed calls with him. He was the supervisor of the person who convinced me to apply for that job. Ugh. It just gives me the hives. He worked for CPS in Texas for over twenty years, so now they have to pull his file and find every case he ever worked on and start looking at them all. Ugh.
Leslie is out of the hospital. The story of how he was injured still remains murky.
Yesterday our farm delivery came, with three big bunches of beets. When I bought some laundry detergent and things at HEB, I picked up a package of knuckle bones. Fortunately before I bought them I noticed they were green. GREEN. So I ended up driving to Whole Foods and buying these fancy beef neck bones instead. I love how it smells in the house when you roast everything prior to starting the stock. Tomorrow I'll roast the beets, butter the cabbage and prep the potatoes, so perhaps we can have soup by late Saturday night. Maybe Sunday. It's really worth the trouble of making your own stock for soup, I think. The ability to not have it drowning in a week's worth of sodium makes up the time.
In other news, I decided to resume doing sit ups. Working back up to my former level of sit up action will be a pain. But perhaps good for my waistline.

I also think Althea's outfit was better than Gordana's and Carol Hannah's.
