I agree greatly with your second sentence STOP
There should be more emphasis on proper construction of sentences STOP
It causes me to wonder (and weep about) what gets taught in Primary/Middle-grades "language arts" classes STOP
Perhaps that's the problem: we should call it "language sciences" and people won't bag on it as much STOP

The very first fanfic I ever read (a HP Mary Sue satire) was on geocities. I snagged it to my hard drive when I first heard geocities was going away.

When I think of Geocities, I think of the crappy/good paganism sites I used to surf back in my temping days. The bad sites had fairies that followed your cursor. RIP, Geocities.
