If you were the person who linked to a post from June recently - thanks for being a dick. I was thrilled to have to deal with something dredged up from months ago. Seriously, who was that? Please do me the favor of not re-igniting fires that are months old. Take it to your own journal.

Something Sarah and I talked about over the weekend was how irritating it is to deal with people our own age who have seriously lacking social skills. Not just on the internet, but in real life. Before you turn ten usually you learn to stop blurting out every single thing you think. Editing is a very useful skill in life. It's worth learning.

In a related vein, please read TIm League's Don't Talk post on the Alamo blog. My favorite line: People who continue to talk when the movie has started are impolite, self-absorbed losers who were never taught common decency by their parents. Amen. That guy is lucky League didn't call the police. What kind of person gets so angry at silence in the theater that he has to chase a person down and punch their windshield? This is one of the things I love the very most about the Alamo, not putting up with this sort of nonsense.

The LOTR feast is on, with fantastic feast and drinks. This is the fourth time I'll be there. Three years ago I met Mike there. Yay for the Alamo.

Did I really just see a preview for something called Ninja Assassin? Directed by the Wachowskis? Oh Thanksgiving!

There was an argument in my journal back in June about violence against women that got out of hand.

I think it's really smart that they've separated out drinks this year. This was the menu the last year I went (2 yrs ago) that kicked my ass. I couldn't enjoy supper or dinner because I was full to bursting. I think I'll be doing a scaled-down, four course marathon at home instead.

It was a smart idea - and to have something for each course too. I am terribly excited.

What are you thinking about making?

A blend of their two menus, probably. Hobbit breakfast, then the elven repast for elevenses (rabbit wild rice soup, flaxseed cracker with blackberry jam), afternoon tea, and as dinner the dwarven lunch (sliced lamb on cibatta with caramelized onions, double gloucester with chives cheese, roast carrots and parsnips on the side), with strawberries and cream for dessert.

Because seriously, with a cup of soup at 11 and an enormous plate of cookies, scone, and herb-cheese galette at 4, there is no need for a meal in between.

I really need to get last years pics and recipes posted in case anyone else wants to do this.
