The locals news has begun to start running the photos and stories of the dead from Fort Hood. They have also posted notices about blood drives. I would be there, but I spoke too soon and seem more sick today than yesterday. Ugh. I feel so helplessly angry about all of it - and especially about the immediate notes I saw yesterday in the Statesman speculating about the man's name and religion. Is this what we are, what we will always be now?

I feel like hell, stuffy and aching. I think I'm going back to bed.

They're asking for people to sign up for blood donation throughout the holiday season, since the blood supply here in Austin is high right now.

Mom and I donated year before last when she was here for Christmas, but then I nearly passed out in Central Market. Might try doing it again this year though if I can arrange a chauffeur for us.
