Fandoms: I am Maru, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eastern Promises, Rome, Sons of Anarchy, King of the Hill, Vampire Hunter D, Gattaca, Deadwood, The Sandman, Emma, Inglourious Basterds, World War Z

I Am Maru:
[I succeeded in crawling into the breast of my big boss!] - There is a story of Maru, that is so awesome I don't even know what to say about it. If you are a fan of the adorable Maru and his many toys, including Harry the Hedgehog, go forth and read. This is perhaps the most funny thing of Yuletide 09.

Eastern Promises:
Unseasonably Cold - my present this Yuletide! Nikolai's sense of self, with autumn leaves and the slow burn of the soul. I love this story.

Just a Drink - a smoldering story about Kirill's imagination and a drink meant to be singular but ends up against the wall.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex:
Photo Real - a story I find utterly amazing, for its grasp of the tone of the series and its deep introspection. The dialogue is good, the story compelling and it shimmers just out of reach like a hologram.

The Sandman:
Schizophasia - a story like an explosion of stars, where Delirium makes a friend in a poet.

Rome:
Amare et Sapere Vix Deo Conceditur - Atia endures a life others might find unbearable. This has a grace and an elegant voice that serves the character so well.

Orders - The lucky(unlucky?) Lucius Vorenus listens to Antony complain. It features a quite funny ending, where I could so clearly see the grimace of Vorenus and hear Pullo's laughter.

Sons of Anarchy:
Always - Gemma Teller Morrow and Wayne Unser have relied on each other for a lot longer than most people know. This story gives you a sense of the lifetime shared between the characters, of an abiding bond.

King of the Hill:
A Spark of Inspiration - Luanne considers who inspires her; Bobby considers the repercussions of animal testing; and Hank doesn't want to talk about Chuck Mangione. This could be an episode. You'll swear you've seen it. Ahh Luanne Platter is getting all grown up.

Vampire Hunter D:
The Hunter and the Priest - D protects a priest from a vampire. I haven't seen a lot of fic for this fandom I ever found too interesting. I find this story blends the atmosphere of the books and the movies well.

Gattaca:
Rome - a story for those of you who relish the queer ruminations about genes and desires. It's just spooky at the core.

Deadwood:
O Christmas Tree - long story short, Al doesn't want a fucking Christmas tree in the bar. This story makes me yearn for the experience of the show all over again.

Emma:
upon what grounds - this is the real Jane Austen zombie mash. Full of restrained Regency terror, it's quite fun and scary all at once.

Inglourious Bastards:
A Basterd's Work Is Never Done - Aldo Raine meets Hans Landa again, in Nantucket. Weirdly graceful and literary, it is one of those strange after the end confrontations we wonder about when we leave a movie behind.

Finally: there are four World War Z stories to be read. Fight the Zack, be prepared for zombie invasions and remember nothing ever really happened the way you thought it did.
