Oh the nudity. And the blood. AWESOME.

Spartacus: Blood And Sand

Someone had one of those days where they used every single idea put on the white board. I can't decide if Spartacus: Blood and Sand is hilariously awesome or hilariously terrible. The show mashed up 300, the original Spartacus and Gladiator with HBO's Rome and then stole a bunch of costumes from WETA's Lord of the Rings closets right before they hired some 90's MTV directors who used to make NIN videos. But they also hired Craig Parker and Lucy Lawless, so I sort of love it even if it is ridiculous.

It's all the slow motion blood spatter and Craig Parker's arrogant voice that make it so great for me.

There is also a HILARIOUS warning at the beginning about the sex and violence, telling you it's so blatant because it was always sexy violent time back in the Roman days.

One of my work assignments today was reviewing a bunch of entries in a "Worst Valentine's Day Ever" contest. No one ever wants a can opener as a present is the lesson I learned.

It's a new series on the Starz! channel, and you can watch the first two episodes on their site. I can't wait for this to be on DVD so I can have a marathon!

(Seriously it is so great, you must watch it.)

That's not true. I bought my mom a can opener once for Christmas and she loved it.

So sometimes people want can openers, but probably not from their husbands on made up love holiday.

so far, no kitchen items appear to be loved presents. The really awesome one was the guy who gave his girlfriend a wok and a bag of groceries, then said his present would be the meal she cooked! Hahahah.
