tuesday bits and pieces

Every day I walk to the mail box and hope there is something interesting in there. Postcrossing helps with that. I received a giant box of BPAL bottles from [livejournal.com profile] sun_set_bravely. (That was definitely more than four. Thank you!)I don't even know where to begin with them, there's so many choices. I'm going to try to wear a different one every day. Today is Mi-Go Brain Canister, one of my old time favorites. I might still have the squishy brain that came with the bottle I ordered so long ago.

In an effort to create a pleasing environment during a surprise trip to Yuggoth, we have created a soothing yet stimulating blend of pink pepper, peony, jasmine, mango, kiwi, pomegranate, pineapple, white ginger, serene white tea and light musks. Bon voyage!

It is super fruity. Fruity is good.

I need to review the Chocri bars I have already eaten sometime soon. They were super tasty. Expensive but so worth it.

Today I did our taxes. NI has this employee stock purchase program where one can buy company stock at a discount, and this is the single biggest headache of preparing taxes. There are so many fiddly bits of information required. It must have taken me an hour to do that. The mortgage interest and all our other pieces were infinitely easier. Now to decide if we should responsibly pay bills with that money, buy some frivolous or something else.

My four layer cake. I had a total frosting disaster, which is why it looks so messy. I tried to distract everything with a ton of sprinkles. It was reportedly delicious.

From the Austin American Statesman:
Armadillo 'Bee Cave Bob' emerges from his burrow at the West Pole in Bee Cave during the first annual Armadillo Day on Tuesday Feb. 2, 2010. It was determined by 'weatherologist' Al Manack that the movements of the armadillo suggested the planting of crops should begin in three or four weeks. The Benevolent Knights of the Raccoon hosted the Texas-style Groundhog Day because they believe a groundhog in Pennsylvania has no relevance to Texas or Texans.

Now I want to check out BPAL, just for that! Free brains!

I don't know if you can still get brains alas. But BPAL is always delicious. Even if you don't wear it, you can use it in an oil warmer to scent your home.

The cake looks very tasty, even if I'm not a fan of sprinkles. :D

Layer cakes are exciting. :D

The sprinkles were my cheap way of tying them into the 4 year anniversary, since the company logo is blue.

I'm so glad they've gone to a good home! Also, four-layer cake -- why have I never seen something like this before? Cakes should always have this many layers!

The absurdly high layer cake is a fine southern tradition I need to practice more. I am tempted now to make the fifteen layer version. (They are almost like pancakes, the layers.)
