rhomboid tendonitis, redux

I think I injured my rhomboid again, probably lifting groceries or something dumb. Curse you weird shaped muscle. Instead of doing anything productive, I'm going to take some medicine and fall down into bed. I need to decide what book I want to read next though. I just finished an biography of Axl Rose. While it was fascinating, it really could have benefited from a more serious approach, full interviews, and a stronger attempt to investigate. It was still interesting though, reading about the incredible and strange life of an artist who gave me a lot.

The Washington Post has a Peeps diorama contest every year. It has some especially fabulous entries this year. The Slides for 18, 26 and 33 are my especial favorites. Peeps love! I want to eat a Peep now.

If you like more historical biographies the one on Jesse James by T.J. Stiles is beyond excellent. There's a lot of research that has never been seen before and the writing is great.

A couple years ago, this amazing biography of Rasputin was put out, with all this stuff from the KGB archives never used before. But the English translation of it was so awful I wanted to throw it out the window.

I think the author's name was Radinsky or Razdinsky. I love a good Rasputin biography, but the translation job was hacked. One page had four sentences in a row that started with "and."
