I baked a ham today, glazed with a mix of apple juice, bourbon, brown sugar and ground pecans. It came out extraordinary, probably because I basted the dang thing every fifteen minutes for close to two hours. Sadly my biscuits turned out mediocre. Boo.

I'm watching Southland on the giant television. This show is SO DAMNED GOOD. Guys. YOu should watch this. It's not a formula typical cops and robbers. It feels dark without being soul crushing. It's got this gray gritty sense of the real world, and it's smart. The last few minutes of the most recent episode, "Maximum Deployment," had me holding my breath and pushing myself back in my chair in a way I rarely feel about television.

This week I've tried to make an effort to eat at regular times, on a regular basis. I have failed miserably at this task. Ugh.

I liked (and watched) Southland last season when it was on NBC. I didn't know it'd reappeared until you recently mentioned it. Just haven't gotten around to re-picking it up - got a little too much to watch as is right now. :)

After NBC dumped the project, TNT picked it up and committed to shooting another season with the original cast. They are all available on the web now.
