MEGA Feast, Indiana Jones

I love the Drafthouse for living in willful ignorance that anyone ever made a fourth Indiana Jones movie. Thank god. Today's marathon of the trilogy was spectacular. The food/drink courses were inspired and delicious. I feel like I could eat that lamb moussaka every day for the rest of time, it was so good. And the coconut risotto! It was fun to start the whole thing off with a big cold glass of vodka before we got any food too, ahahah. I feel deliciously full, but not painfully so. I did drink one of Mike's cocktails. They did this awesome pair during the second movie. The first was the "Poison" made of rum, rhubarb syrup, lime juice and soda. The second was the "Antidote" which had Bombay sapphire gin, lemon juice, green tea and this fantastic five spice infused simple syrup. It glowed a radiant blue green and was delicious. I really want to have those drinks again.
As Zac said, Sundays are for mega feasts. They are talking about having a Back to the Future triple feature. !!!

brienze, and the super cool game her husband helped create on the iPhone. (PocketLegends, which looks like fun.)

Date: 2010-04-12 02:06 am (UTC)Would you believe, we tucked our menus into the regular menu holder so as not to fold or drip on them, and then totally forgot to reclaim them before we left? Argh! I think the moussaka is probably the only thing I might've tried to make at home, though... I won't deep fry at home so I can't try the delicious pork cutlet. They really need to make some form of that a permanent menu item.

Date: 2010-04-12 02:21 am (UTC)Mike took a picture of the menu, but we both got ours wet. D'oh. I want to make black rice with curry now, though I might use something more forgiving than snake. Did you ever have the schnitzel sandwich they did? I think it was last year - it was so, so, so good. schnitzel on a bun!
