This morning there was a baby possum exploring the fence outside my window. I've never seen a small one before. I wonder if it was lost. I didn't go out to ask in case a larger possum was around. Possums are sort of scary with their pointed faces and they made a hissing sound I find unsettling.

My Dragon Age disc cracked, very weirdly on the inside rim. I've never seen a cd break like that before. Fortunately it was on sale at Frys so I bought a new copy, and the expansion disc. I like it well enough, and I will probably spend countless hours attempting to unlock every ending possible. So it is a worthwhile investment. EA is a bully and a pain, but I do like to support the slaving designers and writers and actors and artists who made this fascinating thing for me.

Our farm share doesn't grow many fruits. But they are partnering with another farm to bring us strawberries, peaches and blackberries this week. Delicious! This is really a wonderful thing for me. I am incapable of growing plants, especially plants that are meant to bear fruit or flowers. I am just not good at growing, devoted enough, careful enough, etc. So I will cheerfully pay for someone who does have that skill to bring me fruit. I am considering my pie and cake options.

Speaking of cakes, I have begun planning Mike's birthday cake. Last year, an accident involving a pan of brownies turned into a Dwarf Fortress cake. This year I want to make an on purpose Dwarf Fortress cake. I'm considering making a bundt cake with a ring of strawberry, similar to a recipe I recently saw on KAF Baking Blog. But I also want to make brownie, to fill in the middle and make it more mountain like. It will probably be ridiculous. But I think it will be awesome. The worst it can be is a cake covered in frosting and sprinkles.

It is very possible that the baby possum is abandoned. Mommy possums have so many babies at one time that they don't go back for one that falls off. If you can catch the little guy, you could take him to Wildlife Rescue. http://www.austinwildliferescue.org/

I am sure that birthday edifice will be awesome. *hugs*

The possum vanished, so I hope it was just a pit stop along the way. It was not terribly small, so hopefully if it is alone it is old enough to look after itself. (It was maybe half the size of a full grown possum, but I'm unsure about how fast they grow.)

Mmmm shiny things.

I'm never sure whether or not buying BioWare games is supporting developers of good games or supporting the exploitation of developers of good games.

Still, I do love them.

I know exactly what you mean. I try to be mindful of where I spend my dollars, to avoid companies I have ethical problems with and to support ones I like. But with video games it feels harder.
