pound cake

A. brought me a pound cake, with NI blue frosting, yum! (this must be why I'm popular among my coworkers), originally uploaded by colmmcsky.
Last night I baked a pound cake, with a lot of duck eggs and butter. This morning I topped it off with a simple powdered sugar glaze mixed with a dollop of rum and a swirl of hazelnut syrup. The plain white glaze was too simple for me, so I added a second layer of blue. It came out pretty decent, I think. Incredibly dense with a nice crumble, and a sweet glaze.

The funny thing is, by the time I'm done baking something I've lost interest. I want to eat something completely different!
