Walking along Guadalupe in the rain this afternoon, thinking this weather is exactly what I imagine Seattle to be like. Coincidence, the rain started the day I got the Nirvana biography. Weird.

It is very wet out there. Nice to see the creeks full and things perking up a bit. Walking around campus, rediscovering the beautiful parts of campus. The first day of class is good for people watching too. Lots of skinny girls with long hair in halter tops and low slung jeans are not so interesting, nor are the boys with bad haircuts and blank expressions.

I did see a beautiful girl in a 40's style black blouse and skirt, with a fabulous black hat. Very classy, I wonder what she does.

Classes are wonderful! My professors are fabulous and are all enthused about their subjects. No trouble at all to get into the upper division section of Ancient Egypt. Miss Molly from Czech is also doing the independent study anthropology, so we will be able to study together.

Most hilarious moment of the day: when my dear classics professor began imitating creatures from The Mummy Returns. Watching a jovial man in a suit tip toe hop around the podium and laugh about Roman insults.

Runner-up: when my anthropology professor was discussing the evolution of primates, he showed a picture of a chimp baring it's teeth and then a picture of Nixon in a similar open mouthed pose.

Had many wonderful thoughts to record, but was interrupted by my roommate so it's a bit scattered. I think I need to talk to her about how I feel she doesn't respect my presence in the house. Some things are really beginning to get on my nerves.

A girl in a forties outfit blows any wannabe hipster out of the water, doesn't she :)

Absolutely. She really made my day. It's so nice to see someone with style and taste on campus after wading through the clones.

Nixon jokes are always a winner. Look at Futurama!

Yes, our shop has had a lot of students in it, and while some of them are cute, many of them are repetitive skinny waifs. Bleah.

walking in the rain on guadalupe sucked for me. maybe it was because i had to walk from the music building, to Dobie, then Jenn's Copy and Bindings (on the drag), then back to Jester to catch the bus. yeah, so by the time i got to my apartment, i was soaked. but the temp. was great. don't ya think?
