I had a completely dorky moment when walking through the giant hall at Dragon*con and I spotted Adrian Pasdar's name on a banner. I think I said something like "OMG OMG OMG ADRIAN PASDAR OMG" to Mike while bouncing in place like a teenager on a sugar high. The night before, I found a $100 bill on the ground so it seemed perfect to spend some of that money on this photo and get his autograph.

When I was in high school, there was a bizarre and ahead of its time series that ran for just a few short episodes called Profit. Pasdar played the manipulative, amazing Jim Profit in the series. It's one of those weird, meaningful touchstones of my life because a close friend of mine in high school and I were obsessed with the show. It was one of my first fandoms though at the time I had no idea such a thing as the fandom community actually existed. Shaking his hand was neat, and hanging this up is even neater.

EXACTLY. Exactly. It was like one of those moments in every anime series where eyes become stars or hearts and everything becomes very twee for a moment.

He's actually a friend of a friend (I FREAKED THE FUCK OUT when she told me), and apparently he's also one of the world's nicest people. Which makes me really, really happy. Just to know that he's out there.
