Went from depression to calm to cheerfulness between 8pm and 1am last night/this morning. Then I came home and the cat tried to kill my houseplant. I heard a tremdnous crash, and first thought someone was trying to bust in a window or something. Ran into my room and found several things from my shelf of Prague souvenirs on the floor and dirt everywhere. On the floor, my stuff, the bed. My poor tiny hibiscus plant chewed on in the middle.

Damn it I just want a plant! The cat already killed my airplane plant by chewing it to death. I have to make sure my door is completely shut every time I go in or out of my room because the cat will come in and start attacking the plant.

So at 2am I'm crying and trying to vacuum and wondering if I'm losing my sanity.

I hate this.

Overslept this morning. Right now I should be buying textbooks but I forgot to set my alarm before I crawled into bed and now it just all feels bad. I wish I could call in sick but that wouldn't be good form and it's too late in the day for that now.

Thank you. I find your comment very touching.

My mom and I have never had much luck with flowering plants, but for some reason we don't kill the hibiscus. It's nice.

Hanging Plant?

How about getting hooks and putting in your ceiling. Make sure they go into the beams. Get chain and hanging it from the hooks. Suspend a hanging plant from your celing away from anything that your cat might be able to use to jump on the plant.

I wonder if my apartment complex would complain if I put some hooks in. Hmm. My only problem is that my room is rather dim unless you're on the window sill. I had to hang a blanket to block the parking lot lights so I can sleep.

Maybe a nice hanging airplane plane. I would like that.

If you go to any pet store, they have an all natural pump spray that you can squirt on your plants (and those precious airplanes) that will keep the cat away. It works like a wonder! It doesn't smell like anything to humans either!

That is a good idea. I shall try that.

I'm so sorry about your plant. I've been a bad plant mommie and Floyd (my pink amaryllis) is still with his summer caretaker.

Maybe you can get a plant that tastes bad to cats, but isn't harmful to them? Or if it's not your cat, I suppose a poisonous one would suffice ;)

Hehe, I am sorely tempted to get something that would make the damnable cat sick. I ahve never felt such a dislike for an animal before in my life. She's just done so much stupid crap in our house.

I'm going to sell the cat to the circus and buy new plants. ;)
