Of all the strange things

I'm going to the football this afternoon. For the first time ever, I'm going to a college football game. UT vs. New Mexico State. Wild. Karen sprained her ankle at a rave last night and isn't going, so I'm using her ticket. Melynda's enthusiasm for the whole business convinced me to see what it's like. Never had much of an interest in sports, but it wil be nice to hang out with my friend for the evening.

Melynda's terribly excited. It's great.

Visited my mother this morning, and helped her clean some. Gave her a framed print, a picture of me sitting in Havel's seat in Cafe Slavia. Gene's picture was so incredible that Hana ordered the prints for me, which was terribly kind and sweet.

I'm doing a little better. The sharper edge is passing.

Karma, you see, happened with your roommate's atrocious behavior equaling a broken ankle.

Enjoy your game. I never could get into it, I've been to maybe two college games on borrowed free tickets. Some people love it though. My friend Rob surfs through the crowd every game. This results in when I look through people's pictures, who don't actually know Rob, on several different occasions seeing a picture of him.

Hah!

It was an interesting anthropological expedition. I closely observed the culture in camoflauge. ;) Actually it was fun, because I was spending time with Melynda and screaming. Better than sitting at home brooding.

Dad was a coach, so I grew up familiar with football; also being in the marching band meant I watched a lot of games. I usually have nothing to do with any sport, but football I can stand, especially if I can make any connection with one of the teams (went to school there, used to live there, evil ex is from there so I root for the other guys, etc.) It's probably a Texas thing. :)

Glas to hear you sounding more happy today- I've been thinking about you. Hang in there.

Oh, it's such a Texas thing. I can't think of any other state that obsesses over football the way we do. It's wild.

Perhaps the roller coaster is one it's way up for a change...
