Some of these things are related to each other.

1. Never make the servers sing Happy Birthday or engage us in stupid made up games in restaurants. I'm a shy person in some ways and the horror of feeling everyone in the restaurant staring during such an event is crushing. (I've avoided a certain restaurant in town for years now because of an incident during a family celebration.) Understand that my shyness is not something to be mocked or dragged out in some attempt to cure me of it.

2. Engage the weird, sometimes frivolous, sometimes serious habits of my heart. Have a dance party of Squishables. Staying up late to talk about the lives of wizards we'll never meet in the flesh. Read me stories about suffering dwarves in underground cities. Develop a wide range of knowledge, jokes and gestures known only to us.

3. Make an effort.

4. Express your passion for your work, your games, whatever it is. Care about something.

5. Do the dishes. I make a terrible mess in the kitchen because I'm a disorganized creator. If you clean up the kitchen, I'll gladly mess it up again to make you something delicious.

6. Be willing to have food adventures, at home or abroad. Enjoy foods.

7. Show up on time and keep your promises.

8. Be kind to animals. Seriously. I'm a sucker for that.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever).
Day Seven: Four turn-offs.
Day Eight: Three turn-ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One moment

"disorganized creator." i have not heard that before but it really seems to characterize a good deal of us! from sherlock holmes to fox mulder to pretty much every artist i know. it might be my new favorite term. :)

It was the best way I could think to summarize my habits, from cooking to writing. Glad you liked it!

The woman got me a cookbook of desserts for Christmas and told me I got to choose one recipe a month. And, voile!, she would make it.

A part of me was a little peevish... "really, this means I have to do the dishes twelve times more often than normal..."

Cooking is the fun part. Cleaning is the chore part.

We split who gets to do what.

I am most impressed if you've found a person who appreciates your cooking enough to do the dishes regularly.

I am lucky, as my partner actually does enjoy doing the dishes and would much rather do them than have to cook. When I met him, he had lived for a year without knowing his oven was broken and nonfunctional.
