Day Three: Eight ways to win my heart.
Feb. 8th, 2011 05:38 pmSome of these things are related to each other.
1. Never make the servers sing Happy Birthday or engage us in stupid made up games in restaurants. I'm a shy person in some ways and the horror of feeling everyone in the restaurant staring during such an event is crushing. (I've avoided a certain restaurant in town for years now because of an incident during a family celebration.) Understand that my shyness is not something to be mocked or dragged out in some attempt to cure me of it.
2. Engage the weird, sometimes frivolous, sometimes serious habits of my heart. Have a dance party of Squishables. Staying up late to talk about the lives of wizards we'll never meet in the flesh. Read me stories about suffering dwarves in underground cities. Develop a wide range of knowledge, jokes and gestures known only to us.
3. Make an effort.
4. Express your passion for your work, your games, whatever it is. Care about something.
5. Do the dishes. I make a terrible mess in the kitchen because I'm a disorganized creator. If you clean up the kitchen, I'll gladly mess it up again to make you something delicious.
6. Be willing to have food adventures, at home or abroad. Enjoy foods.
7. Show up on time and keep your promises.
8. Be kind to animals. Seriously. I'm a sucker for that.
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever).
Day Seven: Four turn-offs.
Day Eight: Three turn-ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One moment
