dairy and I are not really friends

It's really time to admit I just don't like yogurt. Ugh. I eat it, try different brands, but ultimately just don't like it. It's time to stop trying to make myself. I've overcome a lot of other dairy aversions - I like sour cream, ice cream, queso, fresh mozzarella, marscapone, and can even drink milk at times. But yogurt is never going to magically change into something I like. There's always something off putting about it.

The only time yogurt is acceptable is with curries.

The Scooba is mopping my kitchen. Thank you kind robot. I will reward you will all the electricity your battery could desire.

I like yogurt, but there's something about the texture that makes me have to eat it in very small bites and almost chew it before I can swallow it. I've never been able to explain this. There's a man in my office who eats a carton of yogurt for lunch every day. He eats it in about 4-6 heaping spoonfuls, just swallowing them immediately. And every time, it unnerves me. He also throws half his sandwich away every day, and I'm like, "Why don't you just bring a smaller sandwich?"

The texture is weird. It's not as smooth as I think it should be and not substantial enough either.

That sandwich business is weird.

which brands have you tried? if you're trying things like yoplait or dannon, it's like a different food entirely. i used to think i hated yogurt as well and then i tried liberte brand. i would strongly recommend trying these before totally writing yogurt off :)

also that brown cow cream top brand is pretty slammin.

Most of the different brands carried at my grocery, from the Brown Cow to Promised Land to Yoplait. The Yoplait Whips are the only ones that seem tolerable because of the texture. But the next time I'm in the store I'll see if that brand is there.

People need to just admit it: Yogurt is an ingredient, not a foodstuff. That shit is nasty. I've never been able to eat it straight without my gag reflex taking over.

It's an annoying deceptive ingredient.

I can still remember one of my roommates in college eating yogurt because she had to (because of an infection or something, maybe?), but every spoonful was torture.
