The amount of hostility generated in reviews of lettuce seeds I'm reading this morning is astounding. I can't imagine there is any reason to get so worked up over lettuce.
I am constantly surprised by what people choose to get angry about in the consumer world. It's so bizarre. This wasn't even someone furious about genetically modified crops or anything serious either - just about feeling angry that the lettuce seeds had a ridiculous name.
It makes me sort of want to eat some lettuce now though.
I think it was Healing Hands or something. It hardly stood out from the numerous other seed names in the catalog. Black Beauty tomatoes and Happy Harvest Corn and Sweet Sunshine and whatnot. It would be one thing if they had just said "oh what a silly name, that's dumb, I don't like the name." But instead I was treated to a multiparagraph complaint about how the catalog people must all be drunks who spend their time making up ridiculous names and ought to be fired. How is that a productive review!? I didn't learn anything about the lettuce seeds.
sounds like caffeinated rant-writing of a deranged and mentally stunted individual. i must ask if this job is lucrative, as it seems wildly entertaining.
Product reviews are quite often surprisingly emotional and hyperbolic. Even seemingly ordinary people will produce the weirdest stuff and take strange offense. Hotel reviews for example, those are my favorite. An angry hotel review is an angry review.
My job pays a decent amount for part time, and I get to work at home. Aside from the usual bullshit of any job it is pretty good. Plus I get this constant weird insight into the mind of the consumer and I learn all about TVs and stuff.
