smile, little sheep

Cold, and my eyes ache like they are full of dust or some cloudy perfume. I'm watching my little electronic sheep gambol on the desktop around my windows and keystrokes. It seems happy. My whole life, I've given personality to inanimate objects. Endowed them with lives and feelings. I don't know why.

I have always given little personalities to things too. I have a bad habit of attaching emotions to them. Empathizing a little too much, if you will. We caught a mouse the other day in one of those humane traps and put in in the field and I felt so sad because I knew it must be terrified and what aweful things must be running through it's little head.
