Smoke from the Arizona fires, originally uploaded by colmmcsky.

This was visible from hundreds of miles. Much of our drive in eastern AZ and through NM was hazy due to the smoke on our way to California.

It has been a bad year - Texas had an awful fire season this spring too. The scale doesn't come across in this photo, but this cloud looked as big as the mountains we were approaching to the west.
