boots

So if you wear Fluevogs, how is your sizing? I have high arches and chubby size 8 feet. Size up, size down?

It's been ages since I had a serious boot lust. I still have my first pair of Docs in the closet, the soles almost worn through. I'm short and my calves are fat, so I can't wear a lot of fabulous boots. But I saw these and I want them so badly. I want them as much as I wanted the knee high leather boots with buckle straps I bought in the mall using all my allowance when I was fourteen.

I'm hesitant mostly because I have never worn Fluevogs so I have no idea what the fit is like, and they're expensive for guesswork. There doesn't seem to be anywhere in town I could try them either. Also, to be honest, spending so much money on shoes does feel a bit frivolous when I think about the mortgage.

They do look amazing though.

GDI THEY HAVE THOSE IN BLACK IN MY SIZE FOR $60 AND NOW I KNOW THAT.

Sigh.

The shoes run small and often narrow. If you wear an 8, you wear a 9 at least.

I found that the woman's shoes ran (mainly) true to size but I also have pretty narrow feet. The pair I have are supremely comfortable - they got me through half my wedding.

Sadly, you can only try on Fluevlogs at their stores, but they have a really good return policy (at least from my store experience)

I own a bunch of Fluevogs in several different sizes, depending on the shoe. The Fluevog people are really knowledgeable about how each shoe fits so I would suggest calling before ordering to see what they recommend. All of mine were purchased online. I've never had to return a pair.

Oh and these are cool!

Typically they run small. As a true 9.5 I wear a 10 in Fluevogs. Angels however run true to size, so I'm a 9.5 in them. Since they are unisex, they are wider than ladies' Fluevogs and are insanely comfortable.

In short, you totally need to buy these. They are amazing. Oh and you can call any store and ask them about sizing and they'll help you.

I have some that look very similar to these in dark green. To me, they are like Docs in size/feel. They were definitely roomier than some other Fluevog shoes that I have.

Now that Fluevogs are all made in different factories, you can't generalize, I'm afraid. I don't know about the Derby swirls, but I have a pair of Baroques that I took in a size 6 and are actually a bit too big on me. I normally wear a 6.5 and my feet are wide with high arches. HOWEVER, I also tried on a pair of boots that are made in their Peru factory and the 7 felt snug because they were narrow. If there are stores in Austin, I strongly suggest you go in and try them on. If you must purchase online, I'd err on the side of it running true to size (the Derby looks like a wider shoe).

I love Fluevogs and feel they are worth the splurge!!
