This steady soaking rain is so needed. But everyone has forgotten rain. They have forgotten it is not a good idea to continue driving manically without lights on in the foggy damp world. In a parking lot today, the oil slick running towards the drain was sort of magnificent and terrible.
Yesterday it felt almost subtropical, drizzling and warm. I had to turn on the AC for awhile, in freaking December, because everything felt humid and sweaty. Today it's cold and dropping as the dark comes.
In further adventures of chores, we cleaned up the strange pile of stuff that grew behind the library door. It was mostly books and recyclable bits. Maybe tomorrow I'll be inspired to clean a bathroom.
This morning I took a class about making preserves. I'm excited by this idea and I might use it as an excuse to acquire a couple new pots and an extra ladle. I kind of want to make tons of pickled pears. I think the brine could benefit from some rum.

And I'm finally going to place an order at nilecorp.com if you want to get a new earring rack.
