I read that this morning and wanted to cry forever. I remember being in the principal's office, angry and afraid, while they told me it was really just my fault and threatened to punish me instead. I remember "peer mediation" with the guy who threatened to rape me, as if that was some kind of solution. I remember being told I could get suspended if I kept being the problem, not the lunatic teacher. No one at my school gave a goddamn until I tried to kill myself and ended up in the hospital.

Internet, you do a lot of fucked up things. But I love you when you magnify the power of our voices to make people pay attention to something, to even just one person and one situation.

According to COPA, you must be at least 13 to use the internet.

I say, if we're granting legal status to people 13+ on the internet, PROSECUTE HARASSMENT ACCORDINGLY.

Obviously, that helps neither of us in our pasts, but it can only help the present and the future.

I was told I was making it up as an excuse for my disruptive behaviour. There actually was no disruptive behaviour, just me getting blamed for stuff. I can't really blame the teachers though - you get hit on the back of the head with something and you turn round and a dozen 'eye witnesses' say it was that kid there, what are you going to do?
