Week follow up

So we drove to San Antonio. It's warm and the traffic wasn't too bad.

The doctor seems very pleased with my progress. I like the way he smiles. They clipped out most of my stitches, except some under some scabs they didn't want to disturb. The really hard part was pulling out the surgical drains. That was fucking horrible. I've done some weird stuff and had some painful accidents and had kinky sex and been hospitalized. but nothing can touch the absurd, horrible feeling of someone pulling those damn things out of your body. I screamed. I really did scream. Twice. But the relief afterwards? AMAZING. Probably 75% of my discomfort and pain gone after that.

I'm still stiff and sore and can't really do anything - no lifting, etc. Probably no driving until I'm off these drugs. Finish my vitamins and stuff.

My minecraft friend is DJing a set of psy-trance for me in celebration and I'm having a beer. Shiner Ruby Redbird is back on the shelves. Everything is good and nothing hurts and I love my friends.

oh man, I had surgery (with resultant drains) ages ago, and I can *still* recall the weirdass, creepy feeling as they were pulled free. *shudders*

I'm glad things are going so well for you - enjoy your beer!

My god, it was strange! I didn't think anything could feel like that! And it hurt. I howled. Poor doctor's office.

Ouch. I am so sorry it hurt, but yay that you have beer and are feeling better!! :D

Ahh, take the bitter with the sweet at my friend has told me a lot lately. It was worth the pain to be done with them! :D Yay beer!

Ouch >< Glad you're on the mend!

Ow indeed! I'd rather sit on a porcupine!

I am squirming in my seat at the thought of drain removal. Well done, another stage cleared!

It's just weird. Like, as a medical invention, they are awesome and good for you I suppose. But as a thing attached to you for a week, they are a right royal pain.

Yikes! Drain removal sounds pretty freaky, but I'm glad it felt better afterwards.

It was amazing, that after the initial shock and pain, the sudden onset of relief was great! Kind of like when you have a nasty splinter I think. I feel so much better - like most of my pain was right there! Now I just have to deal with the itchiness of healing, but that's a lot less freaky.

Having those damn drains out after my breast reduction suuuuuuucked. I'm sorry they sucked for you too :(

I am SO EXCITED about Ruby Redbird being back. I need to buy a storage shed, just to stock up to get me through the year.

God that was a weird sensation I have no desire to ever repeat! *shudder*

All the Ruby Redbird! It is the best. Mike's really fond of the Shiner Black, but I am Redbird all the way.
