rain at night

Of course it would rain that day I finally break down and water the yard. I blame Supermoon.

But it was nice, late last night, to stand out on the back porch. Lightning flickered everywhere, sometimes coming down in razor straight lines that would turn the purplish clouds green with their light. So much thunder rang out, over the drumming of the rain over my head. Everything smelled of water and warm concrete and ozone.

I think it helped me sleep, a deep long sleep.
