Wearing my blue jean jacket and my furry Russian shapka from Prague today, since it's just the littlest bit colder. I long for the biting air of the early morning tram stops, red fingers curled around the metal pole, the swaying lurch of the tram around the bend by the Castle.

Hana showed me a Psalm book from 1735 and a Bible from 1722. Some Czech chemist in Texas has been keeping these precious family relics on the shelf at home. Perhaps they should be protected in a museum in Prague. Beautiful leatherbound books, with metal, heavy type. Scratches onthe Bible cover, where it had been hidden in the wall during the times one oculd not keep a Bible at home. Amazing what survives.

Hello. :) Well, you should go to Prague and get a shapka! It's a fine thing to do. Nice furry hat to keep your head warm and comfy. Everyone needs one of those.

Wow! the books must have been amazing to see. I get excited if I find a ticket stub from a movie from last year. Old stuff is cool. I think the oldest book I own was published in 1900...

I love old books. Just such precious things, they are. I own a pretty little Czech Bible from 1942. Picked it up this summer in Prague.
