come out into the dark

Last night was so much of what I needed. The dark full of colored lights and music and a crowd of people dressed up to dance and drink. There was an absolutely adorable couple dressed as Beetlejuice and Lydia from the wedding scene, and I saw a pack of Vocaloids walking down the street. There was an impressive DeadMau5 and lots of beautiful vampires. I danced to "How Soon is Now" and wanted that moment to go on forever.

I dressed as a secret policeman and wore my Russian hat. It was excellent. I stayed out late, late, but it was hard to tear myself away.

This morning I'm paying for it with a throbbing headache. Vodka always makes it hard to sleep. But oh, I was happy.

I can't put into words how much I miss the old NYC club scene. I was never properly a part, but it was wonderful to know it was there, and to occasionally sample that atmosphere.
