threeplusfireMy Yuletide candy box arrived today, stuffed full of holiday Peeps and other delicious things. Of course I ate a bunch of candy instead of a balanced lunch. But while eating candy I had an idea and I think it will work its way into my Yuletide fic, so I consider this successful. The Yuletide swaps space out that generous, happy feeling I get from Yuletide each year. I had a lot of fun making a package for my candy swap person, and I sent one of my most favorite novels to my book swap person.
Fic-wise I've stumbled across some incredibly delightful things. I should perhaps do some recs.
The Widening Gyre - by Dillian
When Fury gets word of seismic changes, emanating from the sacred mountain called Shiprock, he calls for the Avengers to investigate. They find the cause of the changes, but can they bring balance back to Midgard, before all the Nine Realms have been destabilized? And, when Thor asks for his brother's help, will Loki give it?
All over the world, there are myths telling of the necessary balance between order and chaos. This tale postulates that these legends represent a real balance, and that they exist throughout the Nine Realms. It draws on the Navajo tradition, of the need for balance between the female, "hozho" powers and the chaotic male,"nayee".
It is an action-story, not a love story, and the most important relationships in it are platonic ones.
Infinity Dreams - by Dillian
Loki has saved Midgard from Jotun invasion and earned a place as an Avenger. First step is to visit Asgard for Odin's pardon. After that, the second step is more difficult to discern.
He returns to Midgard, and his place in what is now Avengers' Tower and, with him, goes his brother, who has now begun to act strangely. Frigga cannot be right with her suggestion that the Thunderer feels love for him, can she? The kind of love a man feels for a woman or another man (...or in Loki's case, for a stallion, or a Jotun giantess as well)?
Inside and Out - by Stereobone
Two months after Thor moves to New York, Loki follows. (This a filled request for mrhiddles, who won my fic giveaway and asked for hipster Thor/Loki and first time angst. Hope this works for you, dear!)

Steve Rogers, super soldier. It’s amazing really that it takes them all so long to work out just what the serum can do… but given enough time all things become apparent. This is a story about love, and loss; the things we would do to be true to ourselves and true to our hearts; and the prices you must pay to do that.
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. I'm incredibly grateful for the Drafthouse doing the LOTR marathon that day. It takes a lot of stress off my shoulders.
