We went to Afternoon Tea today, which was a delightful 2002 version of Nicholas Nickleby with quite an impressive cast. Also delightfully strange to see a young Charlie Hunam in the lead role. The teas were exceptionally delicious as well - you can see the full menu here. I've not read much in the way of Dickens but maybe I should. I really enjoyed the story.

Then we stopped to buy Mike some shirts for work, and I picked up a Captain America shirt because I have a late surge of fannish joy about those movies. We also managed to get some of the very last cupcakes from my favorite bakery before they closed up early. Easter cleared them out.

Tomorrow I have a few hours of work, then I'm on vacation. My hotel is close to the aquarium and a couple of museums. I may try to visit them while I'm about during the day time.

That sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon! I remember watching Nicholas Nickleby when it aired. I do like a good Dickens adaptation :)

The Afternoon Tea series is my favorite thing and I'm always trying to talk it up to everybody - costume dramas! teas! snacks! They are doing Much Ado About Nothing (The Branagh version) and one of my all time favorites Gosford Park next!
