Things I see when I go to the gym:

- the Mexican restaurant that still has a Christmas tree up and hasn't opened in weeks

- posters for Alex Pretti and Rene Good that read MURDERED BY ICE

- a car abandoned on the street

- a school with a 20 foot banner telling federal agents they are not allowed on the property

- empty sidewalks

- grey haired people with vests and whistles standing at bus stops

- 3D printed whistles in all colors and sizes

- SUVs with heavily tinted windows that make it impossible to see inside

- graffiti in six foot tall letters reading "Hang Miller and Noem"

god, that's dire. I think of you (and a couple other friends who live there) often - knowing your lives are affected, even if not directly by ICE
