My government class seems amazing. It's post Cold War foreign policy in America, and I was impressed by the professor. He seems very passionate and knowledgable about the subject. I have the feeling it will be good. My astronomy class seems much less promising. I would wind up with the one non-science major section where the professor assigns math homework. *sigh* I haven't done algebra in years. I bought that damn $82 book today, it's not even hardcover! Ugh. My government book was also available only new, but it was much more reasonably priced. Textbooks, it's such a scam!

I did well in Czech class today, which always makes me happy. Spoke without stumbling and had the right answers. Professor P's Prague class was also good. We're going to discuss the history and mythology of the city, and it's more modern presence in the world. Sort of a literature class rolled into a history class rolled into a Czech studies class. We have a field trip planned to the Live Oak brewery which makes Czech beer, so we will have a mini-conference on food and drinks. I don't normally like beer, but genuine Czech beer is great.
