new things
Feb. 18th, 2001 01:42 pmThe valentine I mailed on the 8th appeared in my mail yesterday. Return To Sender. I don't know why.
My mother is very excited. She's going to find out in the next couple of days if she will be getting a puppy from this special litter at Triple Crown. The female is an amazing dog, fantastic bloodline, and has the highest Schutzhund titles in Europe and America. All those things you could want if you're looking for a well bred dog to compete with. Only two females in the litter, and my mother has been emailing Rob every day about them. She wants this so badly. It will be good for my mother to have a dog again. She was devastated when Cheyenne died. They were so close to the state competition when it happened.
I could use this moment to talk about how my mother has never emailed me, and isn't interested in my trip to Europe in a few months or the wedding. But my mother stopped showing real interest in my life years ago, and I should learn to live with that. The dogs make her much happier than I ever could, and I am glad she has something. Everyone should have something that makes them happy.
I suppose I should write about something happier for a change. Well. The sky is a nice shade of blue and it's 54 degrees outside. Maybe I will sit on my porch for a little while and stitch blue pansies. Maybe I will just go read my new issue of Harpers. Actually I think I will go see The House of Mirth since I'm not doing anything else.
