What I am waiting for? My best friend Deb isn't here to watch movies with, and the sweetheart I'd like to cuddle up to isn't here either. *sigh*

Last night coming home from the Blue Light, I saw the Vaclav Klaus poster on the tram. I managed to slide it out from under the plastic cover and it now sits proudly on my desk. I can't wait to hang it up at home. On one half is a very official black and white portrait of Klaus sitting, and on the other is a snapshot of him in a cowboy hat and Bata tennis shoes on a horse. It looks suspiciously like Texas in the background.

I had a great time last night drinking and smoking in the bar with the other girls. Everyone was in a pretty good mood and things were friendly - happy - silly as they are after a few margaritas. Lisa and Jenny saw Keifer Sutherland (!!) in this bar over the weekend. I think he is working on one of the many movies being filmed here right now.

Aside from missing food, and certain people, I really wish I could stay here longer. I want to stay in Prague because I feel at home here, listening to different languages and riding trams, walking home from the potraviny with an armful of groceries, gliding under the city in the metro, kneeling in the cathedrals, crossing bridges over the Vltava, eating ice cream in Art Deco cafes...

Speaking of desserts, I must record the most incredible ice cream sundae yesterday afternoon. Scoops of chocolate, vanilla and hazel nut ice cream, with pistachio liquer, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts. I'm going back today, to try some of the pretty tarts they have.

This afternoon I ate lunch with Miss Molly at Maly Buddha, and we both read our books at the table. Took the train down to Malostranske Namesti and walked over Charles Bridge dodging hordes of tourists. I showed her a narrow winding little street with many neat shops. I saw a beautiful silver Soviet cigarette case that I held for five minutes... maybe I'll go back for it. Though I shouldn't smoke anyways.

Went back to the nifty place and tried some of their pretty tarts, strawberry and blueberry. Quite scrumptious. I want more now. Walked to Bonton Musicland, and a girl on the street handed me a flyer for a club. A club that has lesbian shows, private rooms and an escort service. I am still amused.

Bought a Jiri Trinka video. It has three short puppet films, all very good. We watched The Hand in film class. It's a super sinister reference to the grotesque manipulation of artists under Stalin's regime. I can't wait to show my friends these films, they're amazing.

Did a lot of shopping today and spent almost twice what I planned. But it's okay, because I found some nifty things. This happy pair of carved wooden cats. They make me smile whenever I look at them.

Wonderful Bata shoes, high heeled black sandals. A crinkly skirt of some synthetic fabric and a shirt covered in newsprint and headline graphics. My super European outfit. I'm very excited about the shoes. Also bought some super cool gifts from my friends Geoff and Deb. They are so neat I may have to go back and get one for myself.

I wonder if the tourists will drive me batty when I live here. There are so many of them, I've never seen anything like it. I kept stumbling over people today, it was crowded on the street.

My feet are tired of cobblestones. I want to go back to my room and put on my comfy slippers, eat some Disko cookies and read.
