SAN MARCOS -- A Hays County jury Thursday sentenced Bradley Wayne Dixon to at least 95 years in prison on two counts of assault and seven counts of sex crimes against boys at the San Marcos Baptist Academy, where he was a dormitory director.

Dixon, 36, received two 75-year sentences, three 20-year sentences and two 10-year sentences, and was fined $75,500, officials said. Court officials will meet today to determine which sentences will run consecutively and which concurrently.

Long day.

Spent most of my time in Metro. Actually almost 9 hours at the table by the upstairs windows. Reading a little, writing a few notes, playing cards. Talking with Melynda. Karen spent most of her time playing chess or chatting about cars & math with her friends.

The original plan was to gather some friends to play pool. But by 9pm when nothing had actually happened yet, I lost all interest. I don't play much pool anyway. It was kind of strange.

Hana and Keith came by for some coffee and I talked with them briefly. Keith lectured me about being a productive member of society when I mentioned I still didn't have a job. Hana's youngest came out of his surgery well, and I felt kind of bad for not calling sooner. He can hear now, and spends a lot of time yelling just for fun. She is relieved.

A bit more writing from my writer friend. The difficult part about reading someone's work is that when it's good, you become so anxious for more. Yet you can't exactly hurry them along to suit your tastes. So nice though to be afforded the opportunity to read something new and fascinating.

Maybe later I'll type up some of what I wrote in Metro. I've been thinking about it all evening.
