My arm felt sore yesterday, from punching George. I should practice more often I guess. Funny how you have some friends you can playfully swat, and others you can't. I remember punching one of my friends in a moment of hilarity, and how she squeaked, "Ow! What did you do that for?" I felt momentary sadness, realizing she had mistaken my playful intent. It's nice to have a few friends you can be silly with.

I hate it when I wake up and realize I forgot to actually turn my alarm on after setting it. But it worked out this morning, and I rode to school with Melynda in her father's luxury sedan. That family has so many cars, it boggles the mind. Melynda might drive back to Houston to get a new car and sell her old one. We discussed our relaxing weekend activities in Metro this morning, and she updated me on the intricate details of college football.

A bird flew into Metro today, and we watched Greg chase it around until it flew out. A great start to the day.

Apparently the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic will be here Wednesday morning. Wow! Hana's office is being completely redone, and all sorts of fancy preparations are in the works.

Off work at 10pm tonight, perhaps I will go to the grocery store. Maybe go out and play.

It's Monday

Tell me why, I don't like Mondays...

Actually this was fine for a Monday. I found out the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic is coming Wednesday! Wow! He's going to visit the university, the governor and then fly to DC to meet with Cheney. UT is even cleaning Hana's office for the occasion. This is pretty nifty.

I complimented a girl at the bus stop today. She had on this fantastic black outfit, a fitted jacket that extended down to her ankles, and black pants. The jacket was cut so she could easily walk and it looked quite light and comfortable. Black suede shoes and a dark purplish purse. I try to always say something to the interesting people I see. I hope it brightens their day a little.

Work wasn't too bad, except for one obnoxious customer and some general messiness. People are just so strange. Being out of retail for years let me forget some of that.

The best part of the evening was the visit of the man who stocks the candy machine. He gave us half a giant bag of peanut M&Ms, and I brought some home. Mm chocolate. I'm in the mood to watch a movie now. I'm hoping to catch NNNSlogan and Xiuzan in sometime.

Speaking of movies, we have a huge batch of anime titles on the shelves. Nothing that I really recognize, except some Tenchi in Tokyo, Bubblegun Crisis 2040 and Record of the Lodoss War. Someone needs to come in and buy a bunch. Maybe one of my friends would be interested, if I offered to use my discount. 50% off is nice.

- my bed is a bit messy, unmade in days. The red sheet covering the mattress is still on fairly straight, with a few creases from restless sleep. My pillows, red to match the sheets and the odd blue and purple turkish pattern from my childhood, are scrunched up at the head of the bed, into the corner. The bedspread is squished onto one side, black and white cotton faded from years of use. There is a hole from the time I was burning cheap perfume on the bed in 8th grade. Two other blankets are bunched at the foot of the bed, a brown and white one with horses and the crocheted black blanket with rabbits from my mother. I like to wrap mysel fup until morning when I kick them off.
