So tired, listening to voices argue about the future. Melynda came home last night, and we played cards at Metro for a little while. Discussed our incredible reactions to Lord of the Rings.

out of time and place

Last night on the way home, riding in Melynda's car down Burnet road near St Louis church, I saw something that should have been on the street in Moscow centuries ago. An old woman, with a sign, and dolls for sale. We waited fifteen seconds at the light, and I stared at her coat, the scarf on her head, the fingers curled tightly. She had dolls at her feet, the kind almost a foot tall and wearing elaborate dresses. I wonder what she was doing out there, of all the places.
