it was heaven
Jul. 18th, 2002 12:41 amWhen I smile too much, Gene thinks I am up to some fresh mockery. I can't help it, the smile that rises unrestrained.
We went to Stubbs tonight for the Our Lady Peace concert. There's something so glorious about live music, about the passion and joy with which the band plays. The first song was the one I've fallen in love with. They played older songs, from my high school days that we listened to in the back of the pickup truck, and several from the new album. So many of my favorites, and I sang along in the wall of sound. It was wonderful. The end of the show had the audience singing. It was worth the sweat, the humidity, the crush of bodies, the dehydration. I might crawl into the shower with my clothes on, to save the trouble of laundering them.
You're the blood, I'm the seed and it's all that I need
