not eloquent

Going back to watching music videos. Right now it's a marathon of U2 stuff.

After the long night, I can feel the slightly manic edge building. I'm going to get up and clean the apartment, turn the speakers up and rush back and forth until I'm exhausted.

I am in possession of the extended version of the Lord of the Rings film. We're watching it tonight at the apartment.

Edit: Cleaning has been abandoned in favor of watching the epic, extensive documentaries on the LOTR discs. Peter Jackson, I still can not believe you.

swept away

Listening to the commentary, and watching these hours of interviews, it becomes more and more clear that the people who worked on these films are undoubtedly some of the most amazing people on the planet. The development of the script, the constant evolution during the filming, the attempts to translate huge expository passages onto the screen... it's un-fucking-believable. All these stories, wrapped together, worlds and worlds without end.

Oh, what I wouldn't give...

Lord of The Rings, extended version

We just finished watching the new cut, with slightly different editing and several extra scenes.

I have not the words to describe how wonderful this movie is, how it moves me so in the deep places of my soul. This version does it all over again, like the first time I saw it when I felt like the world was opening up beneath my feet and even the sky was different that afternoon. It makes me want to believe in living.

You have to see this.
