The boots arrived in Dallas an hour ago. Hurrah for online tracking.

I'm mildly embarassed that I've found this shirt and I want it. Time to forget I own a David Bowie shirt from Hot Topic that makes me feel like some goofy teenage girl.

I had a conversation with Gene for the first time in almost a week. Life is weird that way.

I realized how strangely easy to love people, and find it oddly amusing that the one so close to me is much more difficult to gauge in terms of what we both want, while the one so far away is so much simpler. And that is just strange, but so it goes.

Took a shower, and now I smell of cloves and oranges and my hair is wet, and it is simply good.

I dreamed about running into a pair of people I knew in high school. Rachel was younger than me, a wisp of a girl with a love of singing and a resemblence to Twiggy and Nico. She had a crush on Mark, the prettiest of theater boys, and we used to have such fun doing weird and silly things. The other one was Chad, a boy with dark hair who dated the older sister of someone I knew. He was nice, and in French class, so he would practice with me in the hallway before school while his girlfriend did her makeup over again.

But I ran into them by chance in restaraunt and we talked about all kinds of things until I had to return to work, and I was scribbling down my numbers for them. Chad was living in New York, I remember, and when I handed him my card he crushed me to him for a long kiss. And now that I think about it, he looked more like Karl Urban than the seventeen year old boy I remember, but that doesn't matter. I suppose the point of the dream is that it's been a bloody long time since I've been kissed like that and I miss it.

It's cold, so I borrowed Gene's ACM Contest sweatshirt because it's incredibly soft and warm. Since it was on the living room floor and has been since he unpacked his bags of all the contest and IBM stuff he brought home from Hollywood, it seemed like a good idea.

Very sunny, very windy and rather chilly.

Thank you Mick Jagger. And thank you Cate. Hopefully within a much sooner time frame than I had anticipated, I'll be the proud owner of the Toonces-mobile. That's right, I'll be driving a big red truck and happily back in the land of the manual transmission. My tax return came in just this weekend and I have enough money in the bank to make it. There's a paycheck coming in on the tenth so I won't be totally broke and life is fucking grand. Oh yes, and I've eaten so much Indian food my belly aches.
