Sep. 7th, 2003 05:03 pmNothing like eating cake for breakfast. I must now relentlessly recommend the Austin Cake Lady for everyone's cake needs. She's so sweet and friendly, and it happened that we picked the cake so many other people getting married at House on the Hill seem to pick. It's got vines of icing, a raspberry filling and we're going to put real flowers on it. I have recommendations for a couple florists I'm going to try and see this week.
My grandmother sounds so enthused when I talk to her, and she's been so supportive and helpful. She even likes the idea to use music from the Lord of the Rings for the wedding. Over and over she tells me just to do things the way I want, and it feels good to know that part of my family is at least supportive of these choices. hey I tell her she'll love Alan because he's tall and funny like Grandad.
Called my father today. I don't know if I really expected it to be any different than it was. He seemed more curious about what happened to my old Corrolla than the wedding. I think he was worried I would ask him for money, so he was fairly abrupt. I think he was drunk as well. What can I say? I don't know. It all makes me sad, but there is nothing to be done.
Alan's making me an omelette with chicken, spinach and onion. He tries to make me smile, because what else do you do in a moment like this? I love him for that.
Futurama is on in Spanish. There are not words for how weird it is.
