I am so bored at work I could scream. Other than laughing hysterically at the images of First American Sloth Man and the GeoSwan battling it out, work has been rather lackluster. It's become an endurance test more than anything else. If I wasn't getting married, I think I would persuade my British dancing partner to get me a job teaching Nouveau Rusky kids in the land of dachas and get out of here.

My fight or flight reflex is a bit sensitive these days. I feel it coming on for the stupidest damn things. I think it's the adjustment to a new sort of living, of using different pronouns, worrying about two paychecks and someone else's spending habits and phone bills and who knows what else. It's not bad, just difficult in some ways for a person so used to fiercely staking out individual turf.

Watching Weis Kreuz, which is random but entertaining. If the Negam were here, I think she would be doing the gay dance. Come on, four guys running a flower shop who moonlight as secret agents? They get all confused by girls? Yep. Well, it's fun anyhow. The art is nice, albeit very fangirl. I can deal with that. The action is cool. Opening music is rocking.

This drawing is an artist's sketch for a miniature comes very close to capturing how we imagine Alan's character Alexander Massadane would look. I like it. Of course he needs this sword. The blade on that thing is 37 inches long. I wish I had the money to buy that for Alan, even though it's not a practical thing at all. He would love it.

As for me, I'd be happy with some grapefruit soap.

My little sorceror needs a signature, something emblematic. Simple enough, but giving me fits. He plays the straight man to Alex much of the time, and as my DM said it's hard to guess what his personality really is like. Fortunately he digs that, and I breathe a sigh of relief. He's serious all the time, except when he's up to no good. So it needs to be something connected to his magic, perhaps to his spell casting... la la la. We take up the second part of our D&D campaign tomorrow night.

Bridezilla fun always makes me laugh. The bad fashion photos crack me up. I really wanted the Mrs. Santa Claus dress, you know.

Someone had a long weekend with nothing else to do. But that's pretty spiffy looking. Many thanks to Micah for sending that to me.

I have less than fifty certs in my queue. Not a good sign. No wonder work is dragging so miserably slow. I donated $10 to the American Heart Association for the gleeful knowledge that my supervisor will be up at the crack of dawn jogging through downtown. Yes and that warm fuzzy feeling of "doing good" or whatever the nice answer is there. Anyhow I haven't made much in the way of charitable contributions all year, so I thought what the hell. I'm as fickle with my charities as I am with brands, and as such I am every marketing advisor's nightmare. The only reason I continue to smoke Camels is because it would be too much of a hassle to get Alan to switch brands every time I bought a carton.

Alan made salmon with lemon and rosemary, and a cream sauce to go along with it. I cooked some spinach/ricotta tortellini to go alongside, and much deliciousness was had by all. I swoon for the boy's cooking skills. He just makes things up, so far they've all come out well.

I think the clock on my computer is slow. Fun.

My father called me this evening, and it seemed to go well. I am still sort of surprised. Guess I should call the rest of the family now.

In an effort to combat these feelings of being a grown up person, I will instead devote my mental energies towards figuring out what I'm going to do with my D&D character. I'm thinking alchemical engineering, actually. That, and Alan and I are trying to figure out who wins when we pit all our characters against each other. Roland and Lucius are fairly well matched, and the only way to tell who wins is to see who wins the initiative roll. Too bad I don't have my dice in my pocket or we could settle this right now. I still say Lucius would make cufflinks out of that vampire's teeth...
