I give you a meme in two parts, fictional characters I want in my bed. Honestly, I could probably go on at length.

The Five Book Characters I Want To Screw:

1. Danny from Jospeh Skvorecky's novels
2. Raistlin from the Dragonlance series
3. Gerald Tarrant from CS Friedman's novels
4. Richard Sharpe, from Bernard Cornwell's novels
5. Prince Diarmuid, from Guy Gavriel Kay's novels

The Five Fictional Film/Television Characters I Want To Screw:

1. Aragorn, as done by Viggo Mortensen in LOTR
2. Dracula, as done by Gary Oldman in Coppola's Dracula
3. Selene, as done by Kate Beckinsale in Underworld
4. Captain Jack Sparrow, as done by Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Carribean
5. Lucius Malfoy, as done by Jason Isaacs in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Funny thing is, I look over that list and I see exactly why I was so attracted to Alan in the first place. Especially with the book characters.

While drinking mojitos and eating fried chicken and broccoli last night, I remembered a dozen other fictional characters I've had a thing for over the years.

How could I forget Lord Captain Alexander Massadane? Or Thomas and Arutha from Fiest's novels? Amon from Witch Hunter Robin is looking better and better every day. There was the first Druid in the Shannara books and a number of Dragonriders from Anna McCaffrey's novels that I had mad crushes on in my youth. Aeon Flux? Oh yes.

It's raining outside.

Yesterday I read about Dave Blood's suicide, and realized it had been ages since I listened to the Dead Milkmen. Their music is part of my early childhood and early teenage years, back when I thought everyone who was a teenager or in their twenties in the 80s and early nineties was fascinating.

It made me realize too, that it's been ten years now since Kurt Cobain killed himself. Wow. Ten years. It boggles my mind. There's a lot things I want to write about Kurt, about Nirvana, about my memories of that year. But I think I'll ponder it a bit more and save it. Ten years. What a strange time.

I dreamed about people lost and wandering in an enormous and sinister library.

I really like Madonna. I am fully aware of how that weird that is in the context of my life. But I happen to think she's an evil genius, and any middle aged woman who can dance in heels that high is pretty damn cool.

No angry Seattle rock for me today, despite the brief urge. It's all about the technopop noise today, because it will keep me awake and it usually improves me my mood. I am currently collecting weird music videos to watch on my computer.

The other day I found a beautiful Toshiba laptop with a wide screen. I want it.
